For our client, a leading US financial services company, we are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer.
This is a hands-on role for a back-end engineer who wants to be part of flat-structure organization. The responsibilities are to deliver end-to-end cutting-edge solutions in the form of cloud-native microservices architecture applications leveraging the latest technologies and the best industry practices.

Location: 100% remote work possible; however, candidates who can work hybrid from the Warsaw office are preferred.
- Design and develop scalable and maintainable backend systems using JVM languages (Java/Scala/Kotlin) and RESTful APIs.
- Implement and maintain cloud-native solutions using cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure) and microservices architecture.
- Utilize dependency injection frameworks (Spring/Spring Boot) and ensure adherence to security standards.
- Write and automate unit, integration, and end-to-end tests, ensuring high-quality code and reliable delivery pipelines.
- Implement monitoring and tracing tools (e.g., Prometheus, OpenTracing) and work with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Collaborate in an agile environment, contributing to all stages of the software development lifecycle.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies, driving innovation and adopting best practices.

Required:

Professional experience working in an agile, dynamic and customer facing environment (min. 5+ years)
- Recent hands-on professional experience (actively coding) as a back-end engineer
- Recent experience with using a JVM language (Java/Scala/Kotlin, preferably Java 8+)
- Understanding of RESTful APIs and web technologies
- Understanding of relational databases
- Experience in all the stages of software development lifecycle (requirements, design, architecture, development, testing, deployment, release and support)
- A solid approach to writing unit level tests using mocking frameworks, as well as automating component, integration and end-to-end tests
Nice to Have:
- Understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture
- Understanding of cloud technologies
- Understanding of dependency injection frameworks (Spring / Spring Boot, etc.)
- Understanding of security frameworks / standards
- Understanding of data streaming and messaging frameworks (Kafka, Spark, etc.)
- Understanding of distributed tracing and monitoring (Zipkin, OpenTracing, Prometheus, ELK stack, Micrometer metrics, etc.)
- Understanding of containers (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, etc.)
- Experience in automating deployment, releases and testing in continuous integration, continuous delivery pipelines
