Hi, would you like to join a team working on one of the best products for goal tracking out there? We don’t have a cool name yet, we call ourselves OKR team. We’re a small group of veterans from previously worked as engineers in Atlassian, Amazon and Spartez and we prefer to stay small and effective. We work from few cities in Europe, communicate mostly asynchronously and meet in-person for 2 days once a quarter (recently in Gdansk, Poland, previously in Limassol, Cyprus).


The product we’re working on is called OKR for Jira. OKR stands for Objective Key Result, popular method of setting and tracking measurable goals, famously adopted by Google, Gates Foundation and Bono. You can read how ManoMano or Elder Research run their companies with our product. We’re growing quickly and we’re looking to add new features, improve users' experience as well as making core technology behind the product better. We’re looking for a new colleague who will help us grow and run the product.


OKR for Jira is developed in Java, TypeScript and React. It’s hosted in Heroku and uses Cloud based MongoDB.


WHAT YOU WILL DO:


  • Build something new or improve the product. We’re a flat team, without leader telling others what to do and driving the work for others. We all identify improvements, design bigger peaces of functionality, test and deploy them. All of us develop code, introduce improvements to technology or work on security findings.
  • Work closely with the team and rest of the company. We’re 3 developers and product manager, we also work with support team and marketing. We meet once a day for quick standup, once every two weeks for planning, once a quarter for goals setting and strategic meetings.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR:


  • You have 5 years of experience building products with Java, JavaScript or TypeScript.
  • You have extensive knowledge about one modern technology to build web applications.
  • You are willing to learn frontend if you’re strong backend engineer. Or, you’re willing to learn backend if your key strength is frontend.
  • You are good team player. Direct, but respectful. Data-driven and convincing, but open to other points of view.
  • You communicate well in English.
  • You have experience with modern cloud architecture. Ideally, you developed application which was hosted on AWS, GCP, Azure or similar previously.
