    Job Purpose and Overview

Today’s modern technology world is awesome but complex. The number of tools can be overwhelming. At Appfire we build solutions to make life easier, where our developers are the innovators delivering solutions for complex problems. Want to see how? - Check TFS4JIRA, a solution to synchronize Azure DevOps and Jira, or ours Webhook to Jenkins for Bitbucket that integrates Bitbucket and Jenkins. Would you like to get hands-on solving the next challenge and making life a bit more fun? Come join the Deviators team and become a part of this exciting journey!

    What You Will Do

    • Be a part of a self-organizing, cross-functional product team: 5 Software Engineers, a Product Manager, UX Designer, and Team Lead. We set the goals and then figure out how to achieve them, together.
    • Work on our most successful products and contribute to the decisions about the future of our products and Appfire. Your voice and expertise matter.
    • Follow the best engineering practices: automated testing, code reviews, pair programming, and YBIYRI (you built it you run it).
    • Promote simplicity as it is one of our core values. You will apply your experience and turn complex problems into well-designed software solutions.
    • Help other team members by applying your expertise and communication skills.
    • Be the change you seek - if you see that something can be improved, suggest how and make it happen (alone or by engaging your colleagues)!

What We Would Like to See

    • 2+ years of hands-on experience with back-end web technologies (e.g. JEE, Node.js). Frontend experience (e.g. React, Vue.js) would be an advantage. Whereas we appreciate some breadth, we value the depth even more!
    • Willingness to learn and use multiple technologies (frontend and backend).
    • Truly engineering approach to solving problems. Good theoretical foundations of computer science (e.g. algorithms and computational complexity, OOP) are super practical in the ever-changing landscape of technologies.
    • Good understanding of modern Cloud architectures, and practical experience implementing them in GCP, AWS, or Azure.
    • Strong architectural understanding of web applications, including performance, quality, and security aspects.
    • Good grasp of SQL and relational databases.
    • Command of English at level B2 or higher.
    • Familiarity with modern JavaScript frontend frameworks and NoSQL DBs would be an advantage.

    Our core tech stack:

    • A cloud-native version of TFS4JIRA is cooked in TypeScript, Node.js, and Vue.js and runs on the Google Cloud Platform. The previous gen app is written in .NET and C#.
    • The cloud version of Webhook to Jenkins for Bitbucket uses Java, Gradle, and React, and runs on AWS. The previous-gen app is written in Java and Maven.
