IBM Db2 for z/OS Senior Administrator

Role Overview
As a Senior Db2 Administrator, you’ll manage IBM Db2 for z/OS databases, ensuring stability, security, and performance. You’ll collaborate with system programmers, support migrations and maintenance, and provide technical expertise to application teams. This role involves daytime shifts (7 AM–7 PM), with weekend maintenance and occasional on-call support.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, monitor, and maintain Db2 for z/OS databases.

• Perform reorganizations, backups, restores, capacity planning, and performance tuning.

• Troubleshoot database issues and ensure security compliance.

• Support migrations, integrate global solutions, and document processes.

• Mentor junior team members and provide technical support.

Key Requirements

• In-depth experience with Db2 for z/OS design, utilities, troubleshooting, and SQL.

• Familiarity with bind procedures, backup/recovery, access control, and performance tuning.

• Proficiency in JCL, knowledge of REXX, IWS, and Db2 migrations.

• Desirable: experience with CA/Broadcom tools, ZPARMS, Mainview, and Endevor.
