Software Engineer (data/analytics focus)

We are looking for Software Engineer (data/analytics focus) an experienced to join an international project, a global leader in healthcare and innovation. The role focuses on designing and building data-driven backend solutions and APIs supporting InnerSource and Open Source initiatives, used across web applications, publications, and annual analytical reports.

We are expanding the competence center, a leading global bio-pharmaceutical company dedicated to scientific rigor, ethics, and improving patients’ lives through innovation.

Work Mode: Remote (Poland)

Job Responsibilities

• Designing and implementing data models, schemas, and structures to organize InnerSource and Open Source project data from Git platforms (GitHub, GitLab)

• Developing robust backend solutions that serve as the foundation for API-driven data consumption

• Creating and maintaining APIs used by web applications, websites, project explorers, and analytical publications

• Collaborating closely with ISPO/PSPO compliance engineers, full-stack developers, and technical evangelists

• Working with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code to ensure reliable deployments

• Leveraging cloud technologies to build scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions

• Applying best practices in cybersecurity to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance

• Supporting the creation of the annual "State of InnerSource & Open Source" reports

• Presenting complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Expectations

• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in data engineering, analytics, or backend development

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field

• Strong experience with Java and flexibility to work with other programming languages when required

• Proficiency in API development and management, including experience with OpenAPI

• Good understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases

• Solid knowledge of CI/CD practices and Infrastructure as Code

• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP

• Understanding of cybersecurity best practices and data privacy regulations

• Experience with Cloudflare WAF – a strong plus

• Ability to translate algorithms into functional, production-ready code

• Excellent communication and presentation skills

• Willingness to experiment with creating development and code metrics

• A genuine passion for Open Source and active interest in community engagement
