About the opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated Product Owner to lead our Data Engineering team focused on delivering capabilities within our enterprise Data Platform. In this role, you will bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams, defining and prioritizing platform features that enable scalable analytics, data science, and business intelligence initiatives.

You’ll work closely with data engineers, architects, and business users to develop robust, efficient, and future-ready data solutions aligned with modern architectural principles such as data lakes, lakehouses, and cloud-native pipelines.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the voice of the customer and primary decision-maker for data platform features and capabilities.

  • Define, maintain, and prioritize the product backlog for the data engineering team.

  • Translate business needs into detailed user stories, technical requirements, and acceptance criteria.

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to design and deliver scalable ETL/ELT pipelines, data models, and platform enhancements.

  • Support adoption of modern data architectures, including cloud data lakes, streaming data, and batch processing.

  • Align platform capabilities with data governance, quality, and lineage best practices.

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, ensuring strong delivery cadence and team alignment.

  • Monitor the performance and value delivery of the data platform, adjusting priorities based on evolving needs.

  • Stay informed on industry trends in data engineering, analytics, and cloud technologies.

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or Platform Lead in a data or engineering domain.

  • Strong understanding of data platforms, data lake architectures, and data engineering workflows.

  • Familiarity with data ingestion, transformation, modeling, and orchestration (e.g., using SQL, Python, or tools like dbt).

  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment with a clear product ownership mindset.

  • Ability to understand and articulate technical data platform concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting SQL and data models (hands-on coding not required, but a plus).


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP, Snowflake, or similar).

  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks, catalogs, and access control systems.

  • Exposure to data mesh, lakehouse, or modern data stack concepts.

  • Experience working in regulated or complex environments (e.g., finance, healthcare, telecom).
