The Role: QA Engineer (EU Remote)


Please note: This is a remote role and is only available to applicants living in the EU.


Due to our continued growth, Medihive is seeking a QA Engineer to join a growing team of engineers under the Head of Test. This person will be embedded within an agile product engineering team, driving quality across all products. You will be supported by a community of practice QA function while delivering from within your scrum team. The successful candidate will work with the latest technologies to develop next-generation applications and products, ensuring all functionality is top-quality, secure, and robust. You will be expected to lead by example, demonstrating strong knowledge of QA processes and procedures gained within an Agile environment.


Responsibilities

  • Design and create comprehensive test cases and scripts to address business and technical use cases.

  • Work effectively within an Agile environment, leveraging JIRA for tracking and reporting.

  • Collaborate closely with product management and development teams to build a strong understanding of project and testing objectives.

  • Maintain and expand existing testing documentation (test plans, test cases/scripts, defect reports, etc.).

  • Execute manual tests across the application's backend and frontend, utilising a range of hardware including desktop, mobile, and tablets.

  • Participate in troubleshooting issues with different teams to drive root cause identification and resolution.

  • Document, track, and escalate issues as appropriate.

  • Support the production deployment of applications.

  • Participate in internal engineering and external organisational demonstrations.

  • Quickly gain product knowledge to become a product expert.

  • Conduct ad-hoc or exploratory testing as required.

  • Continually look for opportunities to improve the QA process.


Skills & Experience

Required:

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in QA, ideally with exposure to agile development.

  • Strong understanding of the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

  • Experience in testing dynamic applications across web, mobile, and API platforms.

  • Proven ability to understand intricate systems in order to devise complete and astute test scenarios.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with clear, professional English.

  • Ability to work on own initiative and must be detail-oriented.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to adapt to existing test processes and propose improvements where necessary.

Desirable:

  • Exposure to JIRA.

  • A relevant third-level degree or equivalent working experience.

  • Exposure to Mobile Testing (iOS, Android).

  • Exposure to automated testing techniques.

  • Some knowledge of CI/CD tooling and processes.
