Head of AI & Engineering Transformation

Currently, we are undergoing a major technological transformation - we are heavily investing in AI and want to move from a traditional product development model to an organization that actively builds and delivers AI products at scale.
We are looking for a Head of AI & Engineering Transformation who will take full responsibility for transforming the way we build software, data systems, and AI products at WealthArc.
This is a leadership role with a very high level of autonomy - combining responsibility for engineering, data, and parts of product development in the context of AI.
Your goal will be to lead the organization through a transformation:from traditional software development → to a company that regularly delivers production-grade AI solutions (agents, automation, LLM-based systems).
Key goals for the first 6 months:
Deliver 4 production AI agents (customer-facing)
Reduce delivery cycle time (baseline + minimum 30% improvement)
Implement CI/CD for core services + basic AI system monitoring
Automate at least 2 key data engineering workflows
Structure the AI development lifecycle (from experimentation to production)
Responsibilities:
1. Organization and teams
Managing teams:
Engineering (~15 people)
Data (~6 people)
Product (~3 people)
Driving organizational changes (restructuring, hiring, redefining roles)
Improving team efficiency and maturity
2. AI product delivery
Designing and delivering at least 4 AI agents into production within 6 months
Managing the full lifecycle: MVP → development → production → monitoring
Building AI solutions for customers (e.g. analytics, automation, financial workflows)
3. Engineering transformation
Reducing feature and bug delivery cycles (target: at least ~30% improvement)
Implementing and improving:
CI/CD
automated testing
observability
code quality standards
Introducing automation (including AI-assisted development and developer tooling)
4. MLOps and data transformation
Implementing MLOps standards:
model and prompt versioning
evaluation and monitoring of models/agents
Automating data engineering processes (data cleaning, metrics, pipelines)
Structuring and scaling data infrastructure
5. KPI-driven management
Defining and implementing KPIs for engineering and AI teams
Establishing SLAs and delivery quality metrics
Providing monthly progress reports to the CEO
Linking technical outcomes to business results
Requirements:
8+ years of experience in IT / software engineering / AI, including 3–4+ years in senior engineering leadership roles (Head/Director/VP level).
Proven experience leading cross-functional engineering, data, and product teams in fast-paced technology environments.
Hands-on experience building and delivering production-grade AI/ML systems, especially LLM-based solutions, AI agents, and RAG architectures.
Strong Python skills and solid experience with backend and data-intensive systems.
Practical experience with MLOps and production deployment of AI/ML services.
Strong knowledge of the Azure cloud ecosystem (Azure ML, AKS, Functions, Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions).
Strong understanding of CI/CD, automated testing, observability, scalability, and modern engineering best practices.
Proven track record leading organizational transformation, improving engineering productivity, and driving measurable delivery outcomes in high-change environments.
Professional knowledge of Polish and English (spoken and written).
Nice to have:
Experience in fintech / wealth management / data-heavy SaaS.
Experience with AI agents supporting development (developer tools, coding agents).
Knowledge of security standards (e.g. ISO27001).
