Job Description

We are seeking a Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, maintain, and optimize database systems hosted on AWS, Azure, or GCP Cloud. The role involves ensuring database performance, reliability, and security while collaborating with global teams and DevOps engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and administer Aurora MySQL, Aurora PostgreSQL, and DynamoDB environments

• Optimize and maintain database performance, reliability, and security

• Collaborate with DevOps to implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform

• Work with CI/CD tools such as Codefresh, Env0, or equivalent

• Participate in a 24x7 global support rotation as needed

• Monitor database health, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive solutions

• Assist in capacity planning, backup and recovery procedures, and disaster recovery drills

• Write and maintain shell scripts for automation

• Work with CockroachDB or similar sharding technologies

• Experience with YAML coding for configuration management

Work Model:

• Remote position (occasional presence at Visa office may be required with scheduled notice)

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience as a Database Administrator (DBA) or in a similar role

• Proven expertise in managing and administering Aurora MySQL, Aurora PostgreSQL, and DynamoDB

• Strong understanding of AWS Cloud features and services relevant to database management

• Practical experience with Terraform

• Familiarity with DevOps principles and CI/CD practices

• Knowledge of shell scripting

• Experience with CockroachDB or other sharded databases

• Strong sense of discipline, trustworthiness, and ability to work remotely with minimal supervision
