Junior Frontend Developer

About The Opportunity:

Vatix is looking for a Junior Frontend Developer to support the growth and evolution of our web and mobile applications — critical tools used every day to protect lone workers and support operational teams across a wide range of industries.

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to work across both our React web app (built with Mobx, MUI and Django on the backend) and React Native mobile app (built with Expo and Tamagui). You’ll join a collaborative product team that values code quality, design thinking, and continuous improvement — and you’ll be mentored by experienced engineers committed to helping you grow.

What we’re looking for:

• 1–2 years of hands-on experience in frontend development (including internships or personal projects)

• Familiarity with React and TypeScript

• Basic experience with React Native and Expo, or a strong interest in learning mobile development

• Exposure to modern UI libraries such as MUI (for web) or Tamagui (for mobile) is a plus

• Understanding of RESTful APIs and frontend/backend integration

• Comfortable working with HTML and CSS

• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Proficient in English, both written and spoken

• A proactive, self-motivated attitude and willingness to learn from feedback

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in developing and maintaining our web and mobile frontend applications

• Collaborate with designers and backend engineers to implement responsive, accessible UI components

• Participate in code reviews, QA, and testing processes

• Help troubleshoot bugs and contribute to performance improvements

• Stay up-to-date with frontend development best practices and technologies

• Take part in sprint planning, retrospectives, and knowledge-sharing sessions
