SAP AFC Consultant

We are looking for an experienced SAP AFC Consultant to join a strategic implementation project for a major group in the petrochemical industry. The aim is to deploy SAP Advanced Financial Closing (AFC) to automate and streamline financial closing and reporting processes, leading to shorter close cycles and higher operational efficiency.

Currently, the group relies on Excel schedules and email communication (Outlook) without system-level process tracking. The implementation will integrate with SAP ECC systems and be designed with future SAP S/4HANA migration in mind.

Project Scope

The consultant will support the entire project lifecycle—from environment setup through production go-live and post-implementation support (approx. 2 months). Key responsibilities include:

• Collaboration with SAP to prepare AFC environments.

• Configuration of development, test, and production environments.

• Analysis of existing financial processes and development of a unified closing process aligned with SAP best practices.

• AFC system configuration and integration with SAP ERP and authentication systems (SSO).

• Functional, integration, and performance testing.

• Preparation of documentation and training materials.

• Delivery of business administrator and end-user workshops.

• Go-live support and continuous improvement.

• Creation of a reusable AFC closing template for future rollouts across group entities.

Requirements

We are looking for a seasoned SAP AFC and Financial Consultant with the following qualifications:

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in SAP FI/CO.

• Proven experience with at least one full-cycle SAP AFC implementation.

Strong knowledge of:

• SAP AFC closing cycles and automation

• SAP FI and CO configuration

• SAP Fiori

• Process modeling and financial reporting

• Experience with Fit-Gap workshops, system configuration, testing, documentation, and user training.

• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
