Functional Lead (Banking / Asset Management Back Office Transformation) – German C1+

We are looking for an experienced Functional Lead to support a large-scale Back Office Transformation Program within the Banking or Asset Management domain. The role requires strong functional expertise, leadership experience, and the ability to collaborate closely with technology teams. The successful candidate will drive functional workstreams, ensure alignment between business and IT, and contribute to the successful delivery of transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the Functional Lead within a Banking or Asset Management Back Office Transformation Program.

• Lead and coordinate functional workstreams across the transformation initiative.

• Provide deep domain expertise in Back Office operations including Static Data, Transaction Management, Settlements, and Reporting.

• Collaborate closely with Technology teams to translate business requirements into functional solutions.

• Support program governance, planning, and delivery across multiple stakeholders.

• Facilitate communication between business, operations, and IT teams to ensure effective implementation of target operating models.

• Contribute to solution design, functional specifications, and implementation oversight.

Requirements

• German language proficiency at C1 level or higher (mandatory).

• 10+ years of experience in Banking or Asset Management Back Office operations.

• Strong knowledge of areas such as Static Data, Transaction Management, Settlements, and Reporting.

• Proven experience in a leadership role within transformation or change programs.

• Demonstrated experience working closely with Technology / IT teams on transformation initiatives.

• Willingness to travel to Munich twice per month for 3 days.

Nice to Have

• Experience in Functional Analysis.

• Technical background or strong understanding of technology architectures.
