We are looking for a team member to work in the International Centre for Cancer Vaccine Science (ICCVS) hosted by the University of Gdańsk. The position is offered in the frame of the project No. 2024/ABM/03/KPO/KPOD.07.07-IW.07-0096/24 entitled: “NSCLC Diagnostics - Algoritm (DiaNA)". The project is funded by the Agency for Medical Research in the frame of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan Component D Efficiency, accessibility, and quality of the healthcare system Investment D3.1.1. Complex development of research in medical science and healthcare.
Key responsibilities include:
Build & maintain data warehouses / pipelines (clinical + omics)
Design FAIR metadata schemas
Automate QA & re‑processing workflows
Support research team in analysis & publications
Monitor cost & performance of PL‑GRID / CI‑TASK resources
Requirements:
MSc in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology or related fields
Understanding of managing data across different operating systems.
The candidate should be committed to working collaboratively within an inclusive and diverse multicultural environment.
Nice‑to‑have:
3+ years in ETL / data engineering or related
Fluent Python & SQL, solid Linux/Git
Experience with at least one cloud platform or HPC environment
Familiarity with FAIR principles / Data Governance
Tech stack & infrastructure:
Python 3.12, Pandas, SQL (Postgres)
dbt, Apache Airflow (ETL)
Git / GitHub Actions (CI/CD)
PL‑GRID HPC access + planned CI‑TASK environment
Linux, Docker, Jupyter Lab
FAIR metadata, open‑source toolkit
We offer:
Employment under an employment contract at the International Center for Cancer Vaccine Research of the University of Gdansk. Salary PLN 12 000 gross / month (budget may be adjusted for an exceptional match, if approved by the funder)
Additional annual salary, if entitled, in accordance with the University's regulations.
