We're looking for a Senior Product Manager - Payments to join our mission-driven fintech team and lead the evolution of our payment capabilities. In this high-impact role, you’ll own the strategy and delivery of payment products that power cross-border money movement for millions of users. Working closely with a dedicated engineering team and key partners, you'll drive product innovation, regulatory alignment, and business growth across diverse global markets. About the team:
The Payments team consists of a hands-on Engineering Manager and 6 Back-end developers, dedicated to supporting the end-to-end transaction flow across our platforms. Their main focus enabling us to serve our clients in all our destinations, using a variety of payment methods while ensuring the reliability, compliance, and efficiency of all payment integrations.
Team responsibilities:
Ensuring our payment capabilities are world class. Taking ownership and driving improvements which allow TransferGo to offer better payment capabilities or optimize our costs
Managing payment partner and integration lifecycle - from setup to sunset
Managing payment orchestration, payment routing, and smart retries
Ensuring compliance with PCI-DSS and other relevant regulatory standards
Building internal APIs and tools for Finance, Compliance, and Product teams
Monitoring system health and proactively resolving payment-related incidents
Monitor PSP partner performance and raise issues with them when required
Here’s what you’ll be doing as Senior Product Manager:
Launch and optimise payment products to drive company revenue (bank payouts, card schemas, wallets, open banking, APMs)
Conduct thorough product discovery, refinement and prioritisation of new expansion bets based on business impact
Introduce a long-term payment product roadmap, which focuses on both company growth and maintenance needs
Lead mandatory payment-related changes required by the UK/EU regulators and payment processing partners
Work with a team consisting of a hands-on Engineering Manager and 7 BE Engineers, take part in team rituals
Provide the engineering team with business context and requirements - lead them by influence, not authority
Closely cooperate with Product, Banking & Infrastructure, Marketing, Operations, Support, and other teams
Participate in Product Gateway meetings for weekly reporting to C-Level leadership, be clear and concise
Collaborate with major third-party payment providers during the implementation and optimisation process
Participate in major FinTech industry events and represent the Product team in early talks with potential partners
Here’s what we’d love from our new Senior Product Manager:
5+ years of experience in product management within the payments domain (preferably, in the FinTech or banking sector)
Proven track record of scoping and delivering payment integrations, currency accounts, and other payment products
Focus on prioritising and leading product initiatives based on business impact, driving product expansion and revenue
Experience working with PSPs, banking partners, acquirers, payment orchestration, global and local payment schemas
Coordination of projects with multiple internal stakeholders, including engineering, business development, and marketing
Ability to consult senior management during major decision-making, confidence to support or challenge proposed ideas
Feel comfortable with rapid business changes - have grit, great adaptability, and eagerness to learn at a lightning speed
Deep thinker, disciplined and self-driven, focused on outcomes, constantly seeking new entrepreneurial challenges
Proficient in using analytical and productivity tools (e.g. Tableau, Jira, Notion, Miro, Gemini, Google Workspace)
