Senior Oracle Database Administrator

Role Overview 

The Senior Oracle Database Administrator plays a critical role in ensuring the stability, security, and optimal performance of the organization’s Oracle database environments. This position is responsible for the strategic management, maintenance, and enhancement of database systems that support core business applications. The Senior DBA collaborates with IT teams and business stakeholders to deliver reliable data solutions, safeguard sensitive information, and enable scalability for future growth. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Design, implement, and maintain Oracle database systems to ensure high availability and reliability. 

• Monitor database performance, conduct regular tuning, and troubleshoot complex issues to optimize efficiency. 

• Execute backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures to protect organizational data. 

• Manage database security by enforcing access controls, auditing, and compliance with data protection policies. 

• Plan and perform upgrades, patches, and migrations with minimal disruption to business operations. 

• Collaborate with application developers to optimize SQL queries and support development projects. 

• Document database architecture, policies, and best practices for internal use and compliance. 

Required Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 

• Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience managing Oracle databases in enterprise environments. 

• Professional certification such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) is highly preferred. 

• Proven expertise in Oracle database architecture, administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting. 

• Strong knowledge of backup/recovery strategies and disaster recovery planning. 

• Experience with database security protocols and compliance requirements. 

Additional Technologies 

• Proficiency with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and ASM. 

• Knowledge of Oracle e-Business Suite, IAM and OID is a plus. 

• Experience with cloud database solutions (e.g., Oracle Cloud, AWS RDS, Microsoft Azure). 

• Working knowledge of Linux/UNIX operating systems and shell scripting. 

• Familiarity with other database platforms such as Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL is a plus. 

• Utilization of monitoring (ex. Datadog) and automation tools (ex. Terraform, Ansible, Python) for database administration. 

• Experience with enterprise backup and recovery solutions, preferably Cohesity.

• Fluent in English, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business teams. 

• Adaptability to evolving technology trends and changing business requirements.

• Location: Wrocław, Silver Tower Office Center  

• Working Pattern: Hybrid - 2 to 3 days per week in the office, in line with the need
