Senior Frontend Engineer (ButterCMS team)

We have experienced steady growth over the years and employ over 230 people globally. Nearly half of our team is based in Poland (CKEditor). We are currently seeking a Senior Front-end Engineer to lead the development of our globally used product, ButterCMS.

Your new role:

As a Senior Front-end Engineer, you’ll work on key improvements and driving strategic improvements and long-term scalability of the ButterCMS platform. You’ll modernize our architecture, improve performance, and help deliver user-facing features with a seamless experience. Our core stack includes Vue.js , Django, PostgreSQL, Memcached. We’re looking for someone who can lead this evolution thoughtfully, balancing performance optimization with maintainability, and helping us define best-in-class engineering standards going forward.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop dynamic and responsive frontend features using Vue.js

• Lead frontend development initiatives for the ButterCMS dashboard

• Collaborate on UI/UX improvements to enhance the customer experience

• Ensure pixel-perfect UI implementation with a deep understanding of HTML, CSS/SCSS, design systems, and responsive design

• Participating in technical design discussions and supporting the delivery of new product features

• Collaborate closely with product, design, and backend teams to build intuitive, delightful UIs

• Optimize performance, accessibility, and SEO-related aspects of the frontend

To be successful in this role you need the following:

• Solid knowledge of Vue.js (or similar frameworks like React)

• Strong command of JavaScript/TypeScript and build tools (Vite, Webpack, etc.).

• Solid grasp of UI/UX fundamentals and modern CSS

• Familiarity with frontend performance profiling, browser internals, and accessibility standards

• A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively within a distributed team

• Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude

• Passion for clean code, scalability, and staying current with evolving frontend trends

• Interest or experience in AI technologies is a bonus

• Experience working on maturing products or large codebases is a strong plus

• (nice to have) Experience with headless CMS platforms or developer tools

• (nice to have) Experience with Python/Django
