Senior Backend Engineer - E-commerce Integrations Team

Team Mission

The E-commerce Integrations Team builds and maintains the backbone that connects Text’s platform with leading e-commerce systems such as Shopify, BigCommerce, Wix, and Squarespace.

We ensure seamless integration between Text and our customers’ online stores - from installation and data synchronization to tracking sales and performance metrics. Our work enables AI-powered sales assistants, analytics, and automations that help e-commerce businesses grow and deliver exceptional customer experiences.

We handle everything from building the integration layer and backend APIs, to ensuring that data flows reliably across multiple systems at scale.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to help us design, develop, and scale backend systems for our growing e-commerce ecosystem. You’ll work at the intersection of backend engineering, integrations, and AI-driven automation, ensuring that our platform seamlessly connects with external e-commerce tools and provides real-time insights into customer behavior and sales.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex integration problems, designing reliable APIs, and thinking in systems that power multiple products downstream.

You will be responsible for:

• Designing, developing, and maintaining backend services that integrate with external e-commerce platforms (starting with Shopify).

• Building and optimizing APIs that power installation, configuration, and data synchronization between Text and external systems.

• Developing mechanisms for sales tracking, order history, and contextual data delivery across teams and products.

• Collaborating closely with other product teams (AI Agents, Close Deals, Reporting, and Inbox) to ensure consistent, reliable data flows.

• Contributing to backend architecture design and decisions, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and observability.

• Researching and proposing technical solutions for new integrations or automation opportunities.

• Taking ownership of your services end-to-end: from design and implementation to deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.

You may be a great fit for this role if you have:

• 6+ years of backend engineering experience, ideally in product-focused SaaS environments.

• Strong experience with Go (Golang) and/or TypeScript (Node.js) - at least one is required, and experience in both is a plus.

• Experience in both is a plus

• Solid understanding of distributed systems, API design, and integrations with external platforms.

• Experience working with cloud platforms (GCP preferred).

• Knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Redis).

• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and observability tools.

• Experience working in data-driven environments with event-based communication (Pub/Sub, webhooks, etc.).

• Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken.

Nice to have:

• Experience with Shopify or other e-commerce platforms (BigCommerce, Squarespace, Wix).

• Familiarity with AI/LLM-based systems and automation use cases.

• Experience designing and maintaining high-scale integrations or marketplaces.

• Understanding of DevOps practices and infrastructure automation.

• Full-stack experience (or interest). Our team structure is still evolving and we assign people based on goals and impact. If our needs shift toward more frontend work, we’re open to candidates who can comfortably work across the stack.

Once per quarter, your whole team spends 5 working days together at our Wrocław office – a time for focused execution, unblocking work, and driving key outcomes.
