Senior Business Analyst

We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join our company. 

Client and business domain:

Our client is a well-established B2B company specializing in background checks and compliance verifications within the United States. Having recently completed several acquisitions, they now need to develop a unified technological platform to streamline their operations. The company's business domain is quite sophisticated, involving regulatory requirements, varying state laws, and the need for precise data accuracy and security.

Product:

We are creating a technological platform designed to manage the company’s business operations. This is a cloud-first, multi-system solution with numerous integrations with third-party systems needed to collect and exchange data for checks and verifications. This is a greenfield development - we are designing and developing this platform from the ground up, using the existing systems the customer has in place as a source of knowledge about their business and domain specifics. 

Team:

The team will consists of 25+ members, including a project manager, team lead, an architect, an analyst, and software engineers. Our company CTO, with over 15 years of deep experience in technology, will work closely with the team as a consultant, helping to excel in platform design and development.

Processes:

We are integrating the most modern and efficient engineering practices across all projects at Syberry, and this project is no exception. The team will use trunk-based development, TDD, and CI/CD, aiming to deliver value to the customer within weekly cycles and shorten feedback loops. We expect the team to deeply understand the domain and customer business specifics. Communication skills and a willingness to understand the business are essential, as all work will be driven by the customer's business objectives. 

What we expect from a Business Analyst:

• 6+ years of experience in business analysis in software engineering. Demonstrated experience as the primary Business Analyst on multiple commercial projects of mid+ size, showcasing the ability to drive successful outcomes.
• Proficiency in working with varying levels of uncertainty and transforming complex inputs into structured artifacts that enable the engineering team to address clients’ business objectives effectively.
• The capability of conducting voice calls with native English speakers on the client side to elicit requirements, brainstorm ideas, and demonstrate produced artifacts. Ability to resolve conflicts through productive and constructive communication, ensuring project alignment.
• Experience in applying notations such as UML, BPMN, and Data Flow diagrams for documenting requirements.
• Experience in producing all major types of artifacts: vision and scope documents, SRS, mockups, UI prototypes, and non-functional requirements specifications.
• Deep expertise in at least one domain.

What a Business Analyst will do:

• Collect and analyze data on the client’s current business state and structure. Understand and document the details of their operations and the complexities of their domain.
• Champion Domain Knowledge: Systematize knowledge obtained from client stakeholders, manage it effectively, and ensure the engineering team comprehends and utilizes this information. Serve as a key point of contact to facilitate the flow of domain expertise within the team.
• Product Design: Collaborate closely with the engineering leadership to design the system from scratch. Use the gathered domain knowledge to align the design with the client’s business goals, creating a robust and efficient platform. Ensure the UX is intuitive and efficiently manages the product’s complexity.
• Define Business Objectives. Ensure clear and maintained traceability between expected outcomes and the daily activities of the engineering team.
