Syberry is the technology partner for a U.S.-based capital management company, and we are establishing an engineering center in Europe for them. We are seeking a QA Automation Lead to ensure the quality of a financial platform for investment managers that will enable the analysis of financial data and facilitate informed decision-making based on this analysis.

Why join us?

  • Learn from top Wall Street experts. You will work in a team with quants and portfolio managers with 15+ years of experience in the field.
  • Greenfield development: Design and build an entire tech platform to run the company from scratch. Our oldest code is just two years old.
  • Cutting-edge practices: we embrace XP principles like TDD, CI/CD, pair programming, and trunk-based development to ship value daily
  • Real challenges: everything you work on gets tested by real users immediately. No tedious tasks with unknown value
  • Zero bureaucracy: we're a startup, so enjoy minimal bureaucracy, with 90% of decisions made within two business days
  • Small, skilled teams: we’re a crew of 30 experienced engineers working in small teams of up to 5, so don’t expect communication overload
  • True remote: No Return To Office. Work from wherever you want.

What a QA Automation Lead will do:

  • Ensure that the system meets standards and best practices,
  • Ensure regular quality evaluation of the system and processes,
  • Define and drive a roadmap for quality assurance,
  • Research, identify, and implement new test automation technologies and best practices,
  • Coordinate and support software developers regarding testing best practices,
  • Communicate with the client and the team daily,
  • Interact with development teams to help implement optimized and re-usable functional test automation,
  • Collect metrics and report processes to improve transparency and efficiency,
  • Create tools and test scripts when necessary.

About you:

  • Deep knowledge of test automation approaches and procedures, as well as overall QA,
  • Technical leadership in the quality assurance area,
  • Expertise in automated testing of web applications and APIs (e2e, acceptance tests, unit tests),
  • Solid understanding of automated testing tools (Playwright \ Cypress using JavaScript),
  • Experience with Continuous Integration (CI) methodologies and tools,
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, able to effectively lead cross-functional teams and bring together technical and non-technical stakeholders,
  • Robust mentoring skills to guide and support team members in delivering high-quality results,
  • Fluent English: for daily communication with native speakers from the U.S.,
  • Availability until 7 PM CET: Our product team and end users operate in the Eastern Time Zone, so we need an overlap for effective collaboration. Still, we expect 8 hours of work daily, so you could start later or take breaks.

Will be a plus:

  • Finance knowledge: There is no need for deep conceptual understanding, but general knowledge about investment management is a significant advantage, specifically equities, back-testing, and financial simulations,
  • Experience working with end users/clients directly, figuring out their needs, and delivering end-to-end solutions,
  • Experience in security and performance testing,
  • Experience with backend automated tests on Kotlin/Python or any other backend programming language,
  • Experience in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
