Senior Full Stack Engineer

SwingDev—a hippo company is the Polish branch of a fast-growing InsurTech product company – Hippo Insurance. About the role: 

You have an opportunity to join an exciting greenfield project at the heart of our business as a Senior Full Stack Engineer, where your work will have a direct and lasting impact. You’ll help build a modern technology stack from the ground up for a hybrid insurance carrier, tackling complex, large-scale data challenges and shaping foundational systems that will support years of growth. You’ll have the chance to become a domain expert and contribute to Hippo's business-critical, fast-growing insurtech venture. You’ll collaborate with an experienced team, influence architecture decisions, and play a key role in preparing the platform for dynamic, long-term growth. 

What will you do?

• You’ll partner closely with product, engineering, and business teams across multiple domains to drive meaningful projects from concept to delivery. 

• You’ll design, build, and maintain reliable software solutions that power critical parts of the business. 

• You’ll actively shape our software architecture, bringing your ideas and expertise into technical discussions. 

• You’ll work closely with product managers and QA engineers to ensure we deliver software of the highest quality. 

• You’ll balance maintaining existing systems with developing new features, ensuring stability while pushing innovation. 

We might be a match if you…

• Have 6+ years of hands-on software development experience 

• Are proficient in TypeScript and NestJS, React and Next.js 

• Have experience working with large and complex databases 

• Understand and apply software development best practices (from clean code to testing and maintainability). 

• Have experience with building React applications from the ground up with performant state management 

• Take ownership of your work, showing accountability and a drive to deliver impactful solutions. 

• Are a great partner for product, analytics, and business teams. 

• Actively participate in discussions, sharing ideas and contributing to team decisions. 

• Seek feedback and mentorship for continuous growth. 

• Have a great command of English (written & spoken).   

• Are available to work in the afternoon hours, including occasional evening meetings due to U.S. time zone collaboration (we respect work-life balance but prioritize effective communication) 

You will get extra points for: 

• Experience working with Google Cloud Platform and BigQuery.
