Senior Synthetic Data Engineer

Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a  Senior Synthetic Data Engineer for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Europe. Our client is a global leader in consumer electronics and digital accessories, specializing in computer peripherals, gaming hardware, and video collaboration solutions.  

A key challenge for the team is scaling high-quality datasets required to train and validate these models. Currently, engineers are overloaded with both model development and data-related tasks, creating a bottleneck in delivery. To address this, the project is structured around a three-pronged data strategy: 

• Real data collection from physical environments (conference rooms), which provides high-quality but limited and costly data; 

• Synthetic data generation using Unreal Engine, enabling scalable creation of diverse and targeted scenarios; 

• Generative AI–based data augmentation (e.g., diffusion models, tools like ComfyUI), used to expand and enhance existing datasets. 

The team works with multi-view computer vision models that combine inputs from multiple cameras to perform tasks such as scene understanding and depth estimation. The goal of this role is to accelerate data production, increase dataset diversity, and reduce manual effort, enabling faster development and higher-accuracy AI models.

This role requires working hours with overlap till 6-7 PM CET.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of Python.

• Understanding of data pipelines, data ingestion, and dataset scaling.

• Solid understanding of computer vision and machine learning fundamentals.

• Hands-on experience with generative AI, including diffusion models and related tools (e.g., ComfyUI or similar).

• Experience with synthetic data generation using Unreal Engine.

• Practical experience with PyTorch for deep learning model training or integration.

• Ability to design solutions in ambiguous and evolving environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and improve data ingestion and processing pipelines.

• Support data collection workflows and optimization.

• Generate synthetic data (e.g., using Unreal Engine or similar tools).

• Apply generative AI techniques for data augmentation (e.g., diffusion models).

• Collaborate with ML engineers to improve dataset quality and coverage.

• Help scale data production efficiently and reduce manual effort.
