Senior Ruby Developer

Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Senior Ruby Developer for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Europe.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands‐on experience with Ruby on Rails.

• Strong, in‐depth knowledge of Ruby on Rails framework.

• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs.

• Strong knowledge of HTML/HTML5, CSS/CSS3, JSON.

• Experience working with relational databases and SQL, preferably PostgreSQL.

• Strong experience writing tests using RSpec.

• Practical experience with test‐driven development (TDD).

• Experience with Git and GitHub.

• Result‐oriented mindset with strong problem‐solving skills.

• React.js and TypeScript experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Implementation of new features in existing & future web applications.

• Maintenance & debugging of currently running web applications.

• Participation in planning meetings/calls, review/demo meetings/calls, and backlog refinement meetings/calls.

• Testing of changes made in scope of user stories you work on, to make sure that implementation was done correctly.

• Adjustments to existing CI/CD processes.

• Occasional changes to server infrastructure, server infrastructure optimisation.
