Senior Ruby Developer

Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Senior Ruby Developer for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Europe. Our client is a leading global provider that gathers information and reports to enhance the environmental and social impacts on the business.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives in building scalable, high-quality applications.

Tech Stack:

Backend: Ruby on Rails, Sidekiq;

DB: PostgreSQL, Redis;

CI/CD: GitHub Actions, RSpec, Jest;

Infrastructure: Heroku.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in backend development with Ruby.

• Familiarity with different testing approaches.

• Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Experience with Agile development methodologies.

• The ability to plan, track, and ensure timely delivery.

• Strong communication skills in English to effectively collaborate within squads.

Nice to have:

• Experience in front-end development with React and TypeScript, or experience in backend with Python or Golang.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain applications collaborating within cross-functional squads: engineers, designers, and product managers.

• Actively participate in squad meetings to define, design, and ship new features, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.

• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications, leveraging cross-functional expertise to address complex challenges.

• Identify bottlenecks, fix bugs, and contribute to improving code quality and test automation within a team-oriented environment.

• Collaborate with the team to share knowledge and foster a culture where everyone can learn and grow together.

• Keep abreast of emerging trends and technologies in web development, sharing knowledge and insights with cross-functional teams to drive innovation.
