Senior Node.js Developer

Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Senior Node.js Developer with AWS for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Europe. Our client is a company that creates interactive games, quizzes, and adventures specifically designed for children. 

Requirements

• 4-5 years of experience as a Back End Developer with Node.js and NestJS (for complex services).

• Knowledge of AWS: Lambda, Glue, DynamoDB, General AWS architecture & services.

• Understanding of serverless/microservices architecture.

• Understanding of data-heavy backend systems (aggregation, querying, performance).

• Experience in CI/CD & production troubleshooting.

• Excellent written and spoken English.

• Excellent communication skills and initiative to report product/feature/software issues immediately.

• Ability to self-structure your work in an ambiguous environment.

• Sharp attention to detail and solid communication skills.

• Curiosity, creativity, and willingness to dig into unfamiliar parts of the service, system, and applications.

Nice to have

• Experience with EKS.

• Knowledge of hardware-integrated systems.

• Familiarity with event-driven architectures.

• Experience supporting mobile app backends.

• Strong ownership mindset in small-to-mid-size teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services in Node.js.

• Build and support serverless components (AWS Lambda, AWS Glue).

• Implement data aggregation, querying, and transformation logic.

• Work with DynamoDB as the primary datastore.

• Design and maintain microservices / serverless services.

• Own features end‑to‑end, including production support.

• Investigate and fix production issues.

• Collaborate with mobile, QA, and hardware-related teams.

• Participate in backend architecture and technical decisions.
