As a Lead Data Engineer you’ll design and implement a system supporting the investment process for the US-based venture capital firm. You’ll need to integrate data from multiple systems and sources to enable data insights, machine learning and data-driven decision processes.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Working closely with the product team in US (east and west coasts)
- Leading team of 3-4 data engineers (2 in-house + 2 on client side)
- Translating business needs into technical requirements
- Manage multiple technical projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
- Supervising project delivery and developing best engineering practices
- Growing tech teams and individuals by providing support, advice and mentorship
- Tackling most challenging technical problems and finding solutions
- Sharing technical expertise with the client and other team members
- Helping us hire the most talented engineers
Requirements
What's important for us?
- At least 7 years of professional experience as a software developer,
- Managerial or team leading experience
- Proficiency in Python and SQL
- Expertise in data warehouses, especially Snowflake
- Good expertise in relational databases, especially PostgreSQL
- Expertise in DBT and DBT Cloud
- Proficiency in AWS cloud, especially ECS, Lambda, SQS, DynamoDB, S3, RDS
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Passion about good engineering practices and ability to inspire the team
- Proficiency in data architecture and modeling
- Experience with AIrflow
- Ability to design, implement and monitor data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes
- Experience with infrastructure and deployment automation with Terraform
- Experience with Git version control systems
- Passion, self-reliance and ‘get things done’ approach
- Proactiveness and positive attitude to work (and life:))
- Fluent English
You will score extra points for:
- Expertise in Redshift, BigQuery or Databricks
- Experience with NiceGUI or alternatives like Streamlit
