IT Database Chief Engineer

Strategic Staffing Solutions International customer, a leading IT organization, is looking for an experienced IT Database Chief Engineer to join their Database Engineering Team. This role involves designing, optimizing, and securing database solutions, with a strong focus on IBM DB2 LUW and data replication technologies.

Start: ASAP | Contract: 6 months | Hourly pay rate: 55 - 65 EUR, depending on experience

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement scalable, high-performance database architectures
• Install, configure, and optimize IBM DB2 LUW databases, including replication and partitioning
• Monitor system performance and fine-tune queries, indexes, and configurations
• Ensure data security and access control, including encryption and audit policies
• Evaluate and recommend database technologies that align with business needs

Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience in database engineering
• Expertise in IBM DB2 LUW and replication technologies (IBM Q Replication, Change Data Capture)
• Strong background in Linux and Windows Server engineering
• Experience with AWS cloud environments
• Knowledge of DevOps tools (Git, CI/CD, etc.)
• Additional experience in MS SQL, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Grafana is a plus
