Responsibilities
Position Purpose: To provide the link between the business and the development team. To analyze, document and propose solutions for large/and or complex business areas. To include the definition of requirements, agreeing functional specifications, system testing and coordination of user acceptance testing.
Primary duties will include:
- Collecting, understanding and transmitting the business requirements for the project, and
- translating these into functional specifications for the development team.
- Work with product owners and project managers to deliver key development work on time to
- meet required deadlines.
- Take part in pre-planning with other Team Lead, Management and Stakeholders, in order to
- prioritise and estimate project delivery timelines.
- Be an active participant in sprint retrospectives and take any actions forward for continual
- improvement on the team’s ability to deliver.
- Support QA with test scenarios & help with test scripts.
- Coordinate schedules to plan user acceptance testing and manage the feedback process.
- Ensure issues are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in a timely manner.
- Work with developers to understand data structure and implementation.
- Interpret data input/output requirements into and out of 3rd party systems and determine
- approach strategy.
- Liaise with global users, so must be able to coordinate their time appropriately across time
- zones.
- Coordinate with other Business Analysts for cross team requirements analysis.
Qualifications
To land this role you will need:
- 3 – 5 years end to end project lifecycle experience in a similar role with a trading company
- Ability to access requirements and define solutions
- Knowledge of financial systems
- SQL – Data analysis to a competent standard
- Excel – Data/Calculation modeling to a competent standard (VLOOKUPS, Pivot Tables etc.)
- Strong Mathematics
- Understanding of market derivatives across a broad asset spectrum (Indices, Equities,
- Commodities etc.)
- Results orientated with excellent communication skills and must be fluent in English, both
- written & verbal
- Experience within an agile development environment
- Possesses understanding in the areas of application programming, database & system design
Working environment:
- Hybrid (2 days from home, 3 days from the office)
- FTC (UoP) or B2B for min. 12 months
