Senior Backend Software Engineer | Java/Kotlin | EMEA/LATAM

About the role

We’re looking for a remote Senior Backend Engineer (generalist) with strong experience in Java (and ideally Kotlin) to join our early team and help build our product from zero to one. You’ll collaborate closely with other team members on projects that include integrating with enterprise systems, scraping and processing large data sets, and developing systems that enable users to leverage LLMs to generate sales insights at scale—deriving valuable information from millions of public documents.

You might be a fit if you:

• Are a senior developer with Enterprise B2B SaaS experience or Big data processing experience in the JVM ecosystem and ideally Kotlin.

• You have experience working in a startup or a smaller company with real engineering impact.

• Are excited to roll up your sleeves and work in all parts of the backend and have experience working in small teams & startups. Ideally have experience working in a fast-growing startup.

• Ideally have experience with the following stack:

  • Kotlin (BE)

  • GCP

  • Google Cloud SQL for PostgreSQL

  • Firebase

  • Python

• Have experience with some of the following (not required):

  • Natural Language Generation

  • Enterprise API integrations

  • Prompt Engineering

  • Large Scale Web Scraping & Parsing

• Are fluent in written and spoken English

After submitting your application, the team reviews your CV and statement of exceptional work. If your application passes this stage, you will be invited to a 30-minute interview during which a member of our team will make sure you're a good fit for the role. You will have the opportunity ask questions and learn more about the role as well.

We'll then send you a programming challenge that consists of two parts: LeetCode and SQL. Beyond that step, you will enter the main process, which consists of three interviews:

1. System design exercise hands-on.

2. Live coding in Java/Kotlin.

3. Product thinking and past work.

All interviews will be conducted via Google Meet.
