We are seeking a highly skilled, experienced, and dynamic individual to join the Engineering leadership team in Warsaw. In partnership with Klarna, you will play a pivotal role in establishing an innovative fintech IT hub dedicated to advancing digital payment solutions. Responsibilities

1. Lead and coach cross-functional engineering teams working on mission-critical business challenges for Klarna.
2. Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
3. Architect, implement, and maintain highly scalable and robust systems deployed in AWS.
4. Ensure end-to-end project execution, from requirements gathering to deployment and ongoing maintenance.
5. Drive integration and architectural alignment through close collaboration with other teams.
6. Foster a culture of engineering excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
7. Detect and resolve issues proactively within distributed and financial systems.
8. Encourage the adoption of engineering best practices and agile processes within highly autonomous teams.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

1. At least 8 years of hands-on experience in backend software development.
2. Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot frameworks.
3. Expertise in PostgreSQL and designing scalable, resilient systems.
4. Solid experience with cloud platforms, especially AWS.
5. Thorough understanding of distributed and financial systems with an analytical, preventive approach to problem-solving.
6. Proven ability to independently manage end-to-end technical projects.
7. Demonstrated track record in effective engineering team leadership and culture-building.
8. Excellent spoken and written English communication skills for cross-domain collaboration.
