Engineering Manager (AI)

Join the client’s team and lead the development of advanced AI-powered solutions, building and scaling engineering teams working with modern LLM technologies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and grow AI/LLM engineering teams, including recruitment, mentoring, performance management, and career development.

• Oversee the architecture and technical quality of AI-based systems and agent-driven solutions.

• Collaborate with Product Managers and stakeholders to define product roadmap and technical strategy.

• Ensure high engineering standards, system reliability, scalability, and security.

• Support engineers in solving complex technical challenges and architectural decisions.

• Monitor delivery metrics including performance, quality, efficiency, and operational costs.

• Build a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.

• Improve development processes such as CI/CD, code review practices, and observability.

• Supervise production deployments and lifecycle management of AI systems.

REQUIREMENTS

• Proven experience in a Engineering Manager or Tech Lead role.

• Several years of commercial experience working with AI/ML or LLM-based systems in production environments.

• Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript/Node.js or Python.

• Experience in building, leading, and scaling engineering teams.

• Solid understanding of distributed systems architecture and modern web applications.

• Experience working with engineering performance and quality metrics.

• Experience in cross-functional collaboration with product, business, and data teams.

• Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.

• Fluent English (C1 level) enabling effective communication in an international environment.

• Higher education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI/ML, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience with AI agents and RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) architectures.

• Knowledge of Next.js and modern web ecosystem.

• Experience with observability tools such as OpenTelemetry or LangSmith.

• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

• Experience scaling AI products from prototype to production.

• Background in Machine Learning or AI Engineering.
