Senior Java Developer (data migration)

Project Description:

We are looking for a Senior Java Developer to join Sopra Steria Polska for a technical integration project where an old e-commerce payment system will be replaced by a new one. You will be part of a project within the architecture, engineering, and construction sector.

Responsibilities:

• Replacing the old system with a new one
• Implement solutions and deliver high quality software
• Help to define requirements, create software designs and translate them into code
• Shape and apply our software standards of clean code and performance optimization techniques
• Problem-solving and challenge-driven discussion regarding solutions
• Cooperation with the client
• Code review
• Ability to work independently
• Communication with other teams regarding solutions

Tech stack on the project:

• Java
• Talend
• Apache Camel
• API

Must-have requirements:

• Talend for merging different data sources
• Java development, ideally with experience in enterprise/microservice architecture
• Min. 4 years of full-time experience in software development with Java
• Apache Camel or a similar integration framework
• API gateways, especially Kong or at least a basic understanding of:
• API security (e.g. OAuth2, JWT)
• Rate limiting / throttling
• Reverse proxies
• At least bachelor’s degree in relevant field
• Experience in integration projects or replacements of legacy systems
• Ability to quickly familiarize yourself with existing structures
• Strong communication skills for coordination with IT, architecture and, if necessary, specialist department
• Customer-focused attitude
• Ability to gather and define business requirements
• Team player
• Fluent English B2/C1
• Being open to occasional business trips abroad and visits in our office in Katowice
