Tech Lead

About the role

We're looking for Tech Lead who will drive technical direction for assigned team — from database design to UI — and take accountability for scalability, performance, and code quality.

This is a hybrid role based in Kraków — 2–3 days per week from the office.

Requirements

Backend Development:

• PHP Expertise – 5+ years of commercial experience with PHP (7 orhigher); confident designing, developing, and maintaining backend systems at scale.

• Clean, Scalable Code – You write clean, testable, maintainable code and are comfortable with Git, PHPUnit, PHPStan, and CSFixer.

• Database Skills – Fluent in PostgreSQL: schema design, performant queries, migrations.

Frontend Development:

• React Expertise – Production experience building features in React (preferably with TypeScript); solid understanding of scalable, component-based frontend architecture.

• UX & Performance Awareness – You care about performance, accessibility, and usability; comfortable translating Figma designs into clean, reusable components.

Software Engineering Principles:

• Architecture & Design – You apply SOLID principles, design patterns, and know how to structure modular, scalable systems in a product context.

• API Design – Experience designing and maintaining RESTful APIs; comfortable owning API contracts across frontend, backend, and mobile.

• AI Tooling – You actively use AI tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude) to boost your productivity — whether for coding, debugging, documentation, or problem-solving.

Leadership & Collaboration:

• Team Collaboration – Proven experience in cross-functional product teams (backend, frontend, mobile, UX/UI, QA) delivering end-to-end features.

• Mentoring & Code Quality – You actively support other engineers through code reviews, knowledge sharing, and raising engineering standards.

• Ownership Mentality – You take initiative, seek solutions rather than tasks, and are comfortable making architectural decisions and trade-offs.

• English Proficiency – You can read and write technical documentation, participate in code reviews, and communicate effectively in English when working with external stakeholders or clients.

Tech LeadershipYou have hands-on Tech Lead experience and are able to:

• Coordinate technical efforts across a product team and with clients.

• Ensure effective delivery aligned with product and technical goals.

• Support estimation, planning, and architectural decision-making.

• Act as a technical bridge between engineering, product, and stakeholders.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Flutter or mobile development.

• Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms.

• DevOps & CI/CD experience (Kubernetes, Docker, CI pipelines).

• Background in product-oriented, agile environments.

You’ll work in a cross-functional team where backend, frontend, mobile, and design come together to deliver high-impact, user-centric features. As a Tech Lead, you’ll drive technical direction for your team — from database design to UI — and take accountability for scalability, performance, and code quality.

Your day-to-day will include building and reviewing production features, leading architectural decisions, mentoring engineers, and collaborating with the PM and QA to deliver reliable, well-scoped releases. You’ll also participate in client discovery sessions to understand their needs and shape the right solutions.

You’ll work closely with the Head of Software Engineering and CTPO, report to the Engineering Manager, and play a key role in aligning technical decisions with product goals and client needs.
