Data Governance Specialist

About the project

As a Data Governance Specialist in Sii’s project for a global company specializing in the manufacturing and distribution of tobacco products, you will play a key role in ensuring the integrity, quality, and compliance of data assets across a Snowflake-based data platform. You will collaborate closely with engineers, business, and compliance teams to define data policies, maintain metadata standards, and support the delivery of trusted data pipelines orchestrated through Matillion.

Your responsibilities

• Define and maintain data governance policies, standards, and documentation

• Oversee data quality, metadata, and lineage across Snowflake environments

• Ensure SQL-based transformations and Matillion workflows follow governance rules

• Support audits, compliance checks, and regulatory reporting, e.g. GDPR

• Drive data cataloging and stewardship initiatives

Our requirements

• At least 4 years of experience in data governance or data quality roles

• Proficiency in SQL and hands-on experience with Snowflake

• Working knowledge of Matillion or similar ETL tools

• Strong understanding of data lineage, metadata, and compliance

• Excellent communication and documentation skills

• Fluent Polish required

• Residing in Poland required

Optional

• Experience with tools like Atlan, Collibra

• Knowledge of data privacy regulations and enterprise data architecture
