Unity Catalog Architect – Databricks - remote contract

Senovo IT is looking for a skilled Unity Catalog Architect to design, implement, and optimize data governance frameworks within Databricks. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in enabling efficient data discovery, access control, and lineage tracking while ensuring compliance and security. This position requires deep technical expertise in Unity Catalog, Databricks, Delta Lake, and Apache Spark, along with a strong understanding of RBAC, IAM, and enterprise data security.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect and optimize Unity Catalog for data discovery, access control, and governance.
• Design scalable data frameworks integrating Delta Lake, Parquet, and SQL warehouses.
• Implement RBAC, IAM, data masking, and encryption for security compliance.
• Collaborate with engineers and business teams to align data structures and governance policies.
• Optimize data pipelines for high-performance queries.
• Troubleshoot and enhance Databricks and Unity Catalog configurations.

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience with Unity Catalog & Databricks in enterprise settings.
• Expertise in Delta Lake, Apache Spark, Python, SQL, and PySpark.
• Strong knowledge of RBAC, IAM, and data security best practices.
• Experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker) and ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Understanding of data governance frameworks (GDPR, CCPA, lineage tracking).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
