Data Governance Specialist
What will you be doing?
- Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive data governance framework to ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance across the organization.
- Establish and monitor data quality metrics to ensure that data meets established standards.
- Ensure that data governance practices adhere to relevant regulations and compliance requirements, including GDPR, HIPAA, and industry-specific standards.
- Provide guidance and support to teams on data governance issues and standards, fostering a culture of data responsibility across the organization.
- Ensure data privacy and security by enforcing access controls, encryption, and other security measures.
- Implement and maintain data cataloging and metadata management practices to ensure proper organization, discoverability, and traceability of data assets.
- Identify data-related risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimize the impact of data quality or compliance issues.
- Continuously assess and refine data governance processes to improve data quality, compliance, and overall data management efficiency.
Must-have requirements:
- Strong experience in establishing and managing data governance frameworks to ensure data quality, compliance, and security.
- Expertise in data governance tools such as Unity and DataHub for metadata management and data lineage tracking.
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) and ability to ensure compliance across the organization's data landscape.
- Proficiency in cloud environments, particularly MS Azure Cloud, including services like Azure Data Factory, Azure Kubernetes, and cloud storage solutions such as data lakes, data warehouses, and data marts.
- Proficiency in implementing and managing data catalogs and metadata management systems (e.g., Unity, DataHub).
- Ability to define data structures, classification, and lineage to improve data discoverability and governance.
- Familiarity with ETL tools such as Azure Data Factory and FiveTran for managing data flow and ensuring proper lifecycle management.
- Experience with tools like Power BI and Grafana to create reports and dashboards for monitoring data governance and quality.
- Familiarity with automation and orchestration tools such as Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect for data workflow automation.
- Professional English proficiency both written and spoken (min. B2+/C1).
