Your future team
You’ll work as part of the global Group R&D team, collaborating closely with our “Factory of the Future” unit — a forward-thinking group focused on modernizing production through cutting-edge OT & IT solutions. Together, we design and deliver digital architectures that support automation, data integration and secure connectivity across global manufacturing sites.
What you will be doing
In this role, you’ll architect and coordinate scalable, secure, and efficient OT/IT solutions to support a connected and automated factory model. Your main focus: designing the technical backbone for our evolving, data-driven production landscape.
Key responsibilities
Design and implement microservices-based OT/IT architecture across factory systems
Lead integration and data flow between automation systems, edge devices, cloud/on-prem platforms
Collaborate with Group Digital, Technology, and site teams to align on architecture and rollouts
Support PoCs, pilot development, testing and deployment of smart factory solutions
Ensure systems follow highest security standards (e.g. ISA/IEC 62443)
Provide architectural guidance across the Factory of the Future project portfolio
Travel occasionally to factory sites for workshops and implementation support (approx. 5 days/month)
What you bring
Must-haves:
Proven experience in designing scalable OT/IT architectures, including event-driven and microservices-based systems
Strong knowledge of data integration technologies (e.g. Kafka, MQTT), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD
Understanding of MES, SCADA, WCS systems
Familiarity with hybrid and cloud/on-premise environments
Experience with security frameworks (e.g. ISA/IEC 62443)
Nice-to-haves:
Experience with PLCs, edge computing, mobile devices (e.g. AGVs)
Knowledge of ERP systems and basic understanding of ML concepts
