About the role

Our Technology team is our driving force — our engine. From building a new financial backend to creating an innovative app, there’s nothing they can’t do. Beyond fixing legacy systems, our Technology team is here to build world-class financial features from the ground up that’ll be used by millions of people around the world.

We're looking for a Python Software Engineer to join the Core Platform team. You’ll help build the foundational systems, tools, and services that power our global financial platform. You’ll develop robust backend services and internal tooling using Python to support our high-performance infrastructure, enabling Product and Engineering teams to ship secure, scalable features faster. Your work will directly impact the reliability, efficiency, and velocity of engineering across the company.

Up for the challenge? Let's get in touch.

What you'll be doing

  • Designing and developing scalable backend services and APIs using Python, with a focus on performance, reliability, and maintainability

  • Creating internal tooling and automation to improve developer experience, CI/CD pipelines, and operational workflows

  • Collaborating with infrastructure, DevOps, and other engineering teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of platform components

  • Implementing monitoring, logging, and alerting to ensure the health and observability of critical services

  • Improving platform architecture by identifying areas for refactoring, increased modularity, or service abstraction

  • Driving technical decisions and participating in design reviews and code reviews to ensure high engineering standards

  • Contributing to platform documentation and best practices to support knowledge sharing across teams

  • Mentoring and supporting other engineers, especially in areas related to Python development and platform engineering best practices

What you'll need

  • 5+ years of experience working as a Software Engineer

  • 3+ years of experience engineering with Python as your primary language

  • An academic background in STEM

  • Fluency in Python, SQL, and other OOPLs

  • Experience with API development and integration

  • A practical understanding of distributed systems

  • The ability to write concurrent code in IO/CPU bound situations

  • Experience with Docker, K8s, Ansible, Teamcity, monitoring, and alerting

Nice to have

  • Proficiency in building and maintaining internal libraries, SDKs, or developer platforms that improve team velocity and code quality

  • A solid understanding of system observability

  • A background in performance tuning or high-throughput systems, particularly in distributed service environments

  • Contributions to open-source Python projects, or an active presence in developer communities

  • A grasp of networking fundamentals and how they impact service-to-service communication at scale

Building a global financial super app isn’t enough. Our Revoluters are a priority, and that’s why in 2021 we launched our inaugural D&I Framework, designed to help us thrive and grow everyday. We're not just doing this because it's the right thing to do. We’re doing it because we know that seeking out diverse talent and creating an inclusive workplace is the way to create exceptional, innovative products and services for our customers. That’s why we encourage applications from people with diverse backgrounds and experiences to join this multicultural, hard-working team.
