Senior Power BI Developer

Responsibilities

• Design and develop enterprise-grade Power BI reports and dashboards consuming data from the Databricks lakehouse 

• Optimize DAX measures and queries for maximum performance, analyzing query plans with DAX Studio and Performance Analyzer 

• Build and maintain semantic models following star schema best practices, ensuring efficient cardinality and relationship design

• Implement advanced DAX patterns, including time intelligence, dynamic measures, calculation groups, and scope-aware hierarchical measures using ISINSCOPE/HASONEVALUE 

• Conduct code reviews of DAX, Power Query, and data models; enforce best practices via Tabular Editor's Best Practice Analyzer 

• Manage CI/CD pipelines for Power BI deployments using Azure DevOps and ALM Toolkit 

• Troubleshoot and resolve performance bottlenecks in reports, queries, and data refreshes 

• Document DAX patterns, data model decisions, and optimization strategies for team knowledge sharing

• Mentor junior team members on Power BI development and DAX optimization techniques 

• Collaborate with data engineers to define data contracts and ensure optimal data structures for reporting

Qualifications

• You have a university degree in computer science, mathematics, physics or similar field.

• Proven development experience using Power BI Desktop, Databricks, DAX-Code, Power Query M.

• Advanced DAX formula development including complex calculations, time intelligence, and dynamic measures.

• Data model optimization: star schema design, relationship management, cardinality optimization.

• DevOps Experience on the Azure Platform.

• Excellent communication skills in English and Polish.

• Open to working in a hybrid mode – one day per month at the office in Katowice or in Kraków.
