Senior Database Administrator (B2B)

Responsibilities

• Administration, maintenance and optimization of MS SQL Server environments (2012 R2–2022) including performance tuning and capacity planning

• Design, implementation and management of high availability and disaster recovery solutions, such as Always On Availability Groups, Failover Clustering, Replication and Log Shipping

• Monitoring and troubleshooting database performance using DMVs, Query Store, Execution Plans, SQL Server Profiler and Extended Events

• Development and maintenance of T-SQL scripts, stored procedures and SQL Agent jobs to support automation, scheduling and maintenance activities

• Implementation and enforcement of database security mechanisms, including encryption, access control, auditing and compliance requirements (e.g. PCI DSS)

• Collaboration with infrastructure and application teams on Windows Server administration, virtualization environments and database-related incidents

Qualifications

• Successfully completed university degree in Computer Science or a related field

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with MS SQL Server, including query optimization, backup and recovery and high availability solutions

• Strong knowledge of SQL/T-SQL, performance tuning, indexing strategies and execution plan analysis

• Experience with database security and compliance, including TDE, TLS/SSL, role-based access control and auditing

• Very good communication skills in English and Polish, both written and spoken

• Availability to work in a hybrid mode with at least one visit to the office per month

• Willingness to undertake occasional business travel to Germany for meetings with the team and client 

  
  

Nice to have

• Experience with PowerShell and advanced T-SQL scripting for automation and maintenance

• Working knowledge of Oracle Database, MySQL or PostgreSQL

• Familiarity with database monitoring and performance tools such as RedGate or DbPlus

• Experience with Windows Server administration and VMware vSphere environments

• Basic experience with Azure SQL and Azure data services (e.g. ADF, Synapse)
