We build B2B legal technology that helps law firms and fund managers work faster and with better quality. Our main product makes legal workflows easier when raising private investment funds, so lawyers can speed up drafting, negotiation, and compliance.

We use a single-tenant SaaS system hosted on AWS in different regions. Our modern tech stack includes Python/Django, React/TypeScript, PostgreSQL, Redis, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, S3, ECS, and Lambda. We work in Agile Scrum squads with strong CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and security-first practices.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer to join our product engineering team. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys building strong, scalable, and secure backend systems. As a senior engineer, you will take ownership of complex technical tasks and help design, build, and maintain core features of our platform.

You will focus mainly on server-side development, from design to implementation. You will also review code, share knowledge, and support the technical growth of the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend features and services with Python and Django.

• Solve difficult problems in data modeling, API design, performance, and distributed systems.

• Write clean, well-tested code and support other engineers with reviews and advice.

• Follow and improve best practices in coding, testing, CI/CD, and system design.

• Work closely with Product Managers, Frontend Engineers, and other stakeholders.

• Help plan the technical roadmap with input on effort, risks, and feasibility.

• Take part in technical discussions and architectural decisions.

• Improve performance in applications, databases, and system infrastructure.

Essential Requirements

• 5+ years as a professional developer, with strong experience in Backend Development in a SaaS environment.

• Expert in Python 3.10+ and Django 4.x (REST APIs, ORM, async tasks).

• Skilled in system design and building distributed systems on AWS.

• Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL, Redis, and Elasticsearch/OpenSearch.

• Hands-on AWS experience (ECS, Lambda, S3, RDS).

• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and performance skills.

• Experience with automated testing (e.g., pytest) and writing high-quality code.

Preferred Requirements

• Some knowledge of React/TypeScript and backend API integration.

• Experience in legal tech, fintech, or regulated industries.

• Familiar with Terraform/Terragrunt.

• Knowledge of observability tools (CloudWatch, Sentry) and security tools (KMS, SOPS, JWT).

• Experience with code quality tools (Ruff, Black, Mypy).

• Experience working in fully remote teams.
