About the Role:

The Data Infrastructure Engineering team's mission is to enable product teams to deliver their goals by equipping them with a robust platform and expected data quality and cadency.

As a Data Engineer, you'll work on technical challenges including designing and developing a data platform and its integrations. That means working with other teams to establish data interfaces and contracts.

The team is located in Cracow and works with the US-based Data Infrastructure team. You will report directly to the Cracow-based Engineering Manager.

You Will:

• Working with a data platform to develop and make decisions about architectural changes.
• Migrating data marts to improve performance and resilience.
• Implementing features and working with business-critical pipelines to bring the best value to our customers.
• Acting as a point of contact for data-layer problems during production incidents.

You Have:

• You know databases. You have 4+ years of hands-on experience with database systems. You know the principles of how databases work, both operational and warehouses. You have worked with distributed databases, with different storage engines and you know how to leverage from different setups.
• You know the cloud. You've designed and maintained cloud-based database systems in AWS or another cloud platform. We use tools like Redshift, S3, EMR on top of various third-party integrations and automations.
• You use a programming language as a tool to solve problems. You're not afraid to dive into code to fix a bug or to address improvements in data integrations. You use version control systems and you feel comfortable with switching programming languages according to the current needs.
• You take ownership of solving difficult challenges. You know how to improve performance and find opportunities for improvement. You work in a 'you build it, you run it' environment, where you hold responsibility, including on-calls.
