Backend Developer (remote in Poland)

We are looking for a PHP Backend Developer to join our Engineering team. In this role, you'll collaborate with established Scrum teams, including Product Managers, dedicated QAs, UX, and Data Science teams. If you enjoy working within a flat structured, in-house business team where decision paths are short, providing the opportunity for a real impact on the product, this could be the perfect fit for you!

Daily activities:

• You will be responsible for implementing new functionalities and maintaining existing code, with a focus on a 70% emphasis on new feature development and a 30% focus on maintenance.

• You will participate in routine events like: daily, refinement, planning, review, retrospective.

• You will design and develop applications as well as take care of the code quality and contribute to the overall architecture.

• You will follow the best development practices and recommend optimal solutions.

Requirements

• Proficiency in PHP, with a focus on Laravel/Symfony frameworks

• Solid experience in unit testing.

• Familiarity with relational databases, particularly MySQL (MariaDB)

• Hands-on experience with NoSQL databases like MongoDB and Redis

• Practical knowledge of CQRS (Command Query Responsibility Segregation) and Event Sourcing

• Exposure to containerization technologies such as Docker, orchestration with Kubernetes, and message broker RabbitMQ

• Strong understanding of RESTful API principles

• Proficient in version control using GIT

• A collaborative team player with excellent problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills

• Knowledge of microservices architecture

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, particularly using GitLab

• Experience with AI-powered coding tools – preferably Claude Code, though Cursor is also acceptable.

• Proficiency in Polish at C1 and English at a minimum B2 level (both spoken and written).

Nice to have:

• Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript, with a focus on Node.js

• Strong independence and decision-making
