Java&Angular Developer

Premotec is a software development company located in Winterthur in Switzerland with a daughter company Premotec Poland located in Krakow. We create and maintain new web apps for food researchers and the food community in several national, European, and international projects. We also have our standard software called FoodCASE to manage and generate food nutrient values, food consumption data and food branded data. The different research projects allow us to discuss, experiment and improve software architecture and implementation issues so that the whole team can collaborate and profit. To extend our team, we are looking for a Java and Angular Developer.

Your tasks:

• Create concepts for new functionalities in our scientific apps in close collaboration with users or project partners

• Implement new functionalities and maintain existing ones in our core products (currently: Java EE & Swing; to-be: Spring & Angular) and several research projects (Java 16/17, Spring & Angular)

Your required profile:

• You studied computer science or a closely related topic, and you have a master degree

• You have at least 3 year fulltime working experience in Java and/or Angular programming

• You have good knowledge of Java

• You have experience with Spring Boot / Framework

• You have experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred) and ORMs (JPA/Hibernate)

• You know how to build RESTful services

• You've worked with Git version control, tracking tools, and build tools

• You write clean, simple, efficient and reusable code

• You have strong analytical skills and are good in explaining

• You have strong communication skills as most tasks are performed directly with our users and project partners

• You have a good level in spoken and written Polish and English (at least B2)

• You are a team player but also confident when working independently

• You are a creative, explorative, and proactive person

• You are self-reliant, independent and have decision-making skills

Additional skills (nice to have):

• You know basic Linux (Ubuntu) server management

• You have experience with containerisation of applications (Docker Swarm)

• You have experience with WildFly server

• You know how to define test scenarios and implement them in testing framework (JUnit etc.)

• You have experience with WordPress

• You have some experience in machine learning and web scraping

• You have experience in Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe, or other research programmes

• You speak German
