React Native Developer

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for an experienced developer who will be responsible for improving the PhoneHQ VoIP mobile app created last year as a greenfield project based on 10+ years of market existence. Based on the previous experience we are creating a lightweight solution targeting different set of clients from scratch. PhoneHQ is our very own worldwide phone system that improves the way companies handle phone calls.

You will be working in a small team of less than 10 people. This position will play a key role in the whole process of designing and building mobile app around the core product as well as designing backend architecture which is deployed on AWS cloud so that it is horizontally scalable and resilient to dynamic load changes. We need a person who is not only a decent developer but is also aware of the business impact of the project and is open to discuss the best possible solutions with no straight guidelines. The project you will be working on is being in heavy tests by our partners and gives a lot of freedom to make an impact on the future solution. You will be a part of the team to design and maintain its architecture with a help of other team members.

Job role:

• Build and maintain features in our React Native mobile application
• Work with native modules (Android/iOS) when necessary
• Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate APIs and real-time communications
• Optimize performance for speed, reliability, and usability
• Troubleshoot and debug production issues
• Contribute to the product roadmap with technical insights

Project tech stack:

• Frontend - React 
• Mobile - React Native
• Backend - Java 21+, Kotlin, Quarkus, kafka, gradle, some side services in Node.js, Python
• Database - PostgreSQL
• Kubernetes, AWS cloud

REQUIREMENTS

Key skills:

• Proficiency in React
• Strong expertise in React Native
• Understanding of mobile app architecture and development lifecycle

Bonus points:

• Familiarity with VoIP technologies (e.g., SIP, WebRTC, push notifications for calls) is a major plus
• Experience with native Android/iOS development
