DevOps Engineer (part-time)

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to collaborate with one of our clients, a cloud-based retail management platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in DevOps practices with expertise in AWS Cloud, Terraform, GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and monitoring tools like AWS CloudWatch, Datadog, and Sentry.

In this position, you will:

• design, implement, and manage infrastructure using Terraform on AWS Cloud
• automate the provisioning of environments using best practices
• develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD
• ensure seamless deployment processes across the development, staging, and production environment
• create and manage Docker containers for application deployment
• optimise containerized applications for performance and scalability
• set up and configure monitoring tools like AWS CloudWatch, Datadog, and Sentry
• implement alerts and dashboards to proactively identify and resolve issues
• work closely with development teams to understand their needs and provide appropriate infrastructure solutions
• participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for critical systems
• implement security best practices in infrastructure and deployment processes
• ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations

Requirements: 

• bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in DevOps or related roles
• AWS Cloud: Proficiency in AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, Lambda, and CloudFormation
• Terraform: Strong experience in writing and managing Terraform scripts for IaC
• GitLab: Expertise in GitLab for source control and CI/CD pipeline management
• CI/CD: Deep understanding of continuous integration and deployment practices
• Docker: Hands-on experience in containerizing applications using Docker
• Monitoring Tools: Familiarity with AWS CloudWatch, Datadog, and Sentry for monitoring and logging
• Scripting Languages: Proficiency in scripting languages like Bash, Python, or PowerShell
• Networking: Understanding of networking concepts, DNS, load balancing, and firewalls
