Lead QA Engineer

OneRail is a technology company innovating solutions for multi-modal delivery. We have built and continue to develop a delivery orchestration platform that connects shippers to an extensive courier ecosystem to automate, optimize, and control the entire delivery supply chain, from the demand signal to the proof of delivery.

Our OmniPoint SaaS platform uses proprietary algorithms and artificial intelligence to power efficient same-day delivery programs for major companies like Lowe’s, Pepsi, American Tire Distributors, and Advance Auto Parts.

As Lead QA Engineer you join a team of talented engineers and developers working together to transform final mile logistics and supply chain operations. Your role will be to lead, mentor, and grow our QA team while staying hands-on with testing. You'll shape the QA strategy, drive quality across all products, and make a real impact in a fast-growing, tech-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and execute a comprehensive QA strategy covering backend, frontend, and mobile testing, ensuring robust quality assurance across the entire development lifecycle.
• Stay hands-on with test automation, framework development, and debugging complex issues, ensuring high-quality software delivery.
• Directly supervise, mentor, and develop a team of 4-8 engineers, providing career guidance and fostering culture of engineering excellence full of collaboration, accountability and professional growth.
• Actively recruit and interview top talent to strengthen the QA engineering team.
• Work closely with developers, product managers, and DevOps engineers to embed quality at every stage of software development.
• Establish best practices for test automation, CI/CD integration, and performance testing, optimizing QA processes for efficiency and effectiveness.
• Select, implement, and advocate for the best QA tools and frameworks aligned with our tech stack.
• Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve our platform.

Requirements:

• 8+ years in in quality assurance, with a focus on automated testing & web technologies
• 2+ years in a leadership role
• Knowledge of API testing tools (e.g. Postman, RestAssured, Newman).
• Knowledge of unit / integration testing frameworks (e.g. Mocha, Chai, Jest).
• Experience with automated testing frameworks (e.g. Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Testim).
• Knowledge of performance/load testing frameworks (e.g. Gatling, k6).
• Experience with testing cloud-based applications (Azure and GCP)
• Demonstrated experience writing automated tests, debugging failures, and improving test frameworks.
• Proven ability to build and manage teams, drive process improvements, and set quality standards.
• Advanced proficiency in English, both written and spoken (B2+).

Office location: Kraków, Poland

Work Style: hybrid (2-3 days from the office / week preferred); We are open to a more flexible arrangement for candidates located outside the Krakow area.

Salary levels: 25 000 – 30 000 PLN/month (regular)
