Our Technology Office designs and executes industry-relevant inventions that allow organizations to realize exceptional business value from technology. We are looking for an energetic and passionate GCP Lead Cloud Engineer who can bring their experience and knowledge to our Technology Office team.
Responsibilities:
- Plan for system and application migration(s) to the cloud, adhering to the client’s technical and business requirements
- Lead engagement with potential clients to design software solutions (architecture) during the pre-sales process, including advising on additional modules, system customization/configuration, and service-offering solutions to meet clients’ stated needs
- Work as a member of cross-functional teams to design scalable, highly available, secure application solutions that leverage cloud services
- Facilitate the research and finalize alternative design options to ensure that any enhancements fit with overall business requirements
- Assess emerging technologies, stay abreast of industry trends, and give advice on investments
- Collaborate with development teams to improve their infrastructure based on GCP best practices
- Design of landing zones (multi-account strategy, identity and access management, governance, data security, network design, etc.)
- Identify and propose cost and functional efficiency options
- Document detailed technical designs for integration and implementation of new cloud applications and systems
- Accelerate cloud adoption by influencing and standardizing reusable patterns to develop prebuilt solutions or automation templates
- Evaluate and review deliverables (architecture and design artifacts, code reviews, etc.)
Requirements:
- Experience in customer-facing, advising, and consulting
- At least two 2 years of experience in designing cloud-native and containerized applications in GCP
- At least 5 years experience in IT with a focus on DevOps and GCP
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, analytical, communication, and technical skills
- Energetic team player who works well across boundaries and readily adapts to change and enjoys rapid development
- Proven ability to manage and resolve complex and ambiguous issues
- Hands-on experience documenting solution architecture and detailed designs
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, Big Data analytics
- Hands-on experience with any of the following Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Git, Jenkins or Kubernetes) with an “Automation First” attitude
- Solid understanding of SDLC
- Must be an intellectually curious individual
- Proven experience in designing CI/CD pipelines
- Confident knowledge of Agile methodologies
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Strong presentation skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Conversational English level (B2+)
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, as well as work collaboratively with teams, some of which may be geographically distributed
- Software development-related degree or equivalent in education or experience
- GCP Professional Cloud Architect certification is a plus
- Additional AWS or Azure experience is a plus
- Experience in migrating large-scale customer-facing applications from on-premise to GCP environment is a plus
- Experience with highly available and fault-tolerant enterprise and web-scale software deployments is a plus
- Technical leadership experience is a plus
- Experience in automatign solutions using Python or other scripting languages is a plus
