Remote Senior DevOps Engineer

This is a long-term remote B2B contract opportunity offering both:

- a competitive hourly compensation rate and

- a meaningful equity participation (stock options).

Jirav is looking for an experienced and motivated DevOps engineer to become the key contributor to build, test, and deployment automation, achieving the full CI/CD capabilities, and perfecting the developers’ experience.

You will be working closely with your US-based counterparts, including the CTO, while maintaining a continuous interaction with the development team based in Poland.

This is a direct B2B contract. No agencies, please.

What will you be working on?

Our software runs atop Azure. We strive to leverage the best modern CI/CD tools and practices.

Our technology stack is rather straightforward, pragmatic, and efficient. The backend is built in Java. We use Spring Boot and MySQL. Our FE applications are based on the Angular framework.

You will find our code base well planned, maintainable, and testable. A significant effort has been put into development of unit test cases. We are currently CI, but not CD, maintaining a monthly release cadence with weekly minor patches.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience managing mission critical cloud-based SaaS application infrastructure.
• 5+ years of experience working with public cloud services such as Azure, AWS, and GCP. We run on Azure and would naturally prefer hands-on expertise with this provider.
• In-depth understanding of CI/DC principles and practice, pipeline automation, codifying the infrastructure.
• Proficiency with Ansible, Terraform, Python, and their related ecosystems is essential. Packer experience is desirable.
• Experience in Agile development methodologies and release management techniques.
• Ability to understand and empathize with the development and quality engineering teams and relate to their work experience.
• Knowledge of the best security practices across the development and deployment cycles.
• MS or BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
