Principal Solution / Technical Architect
We are looking for a Principal Solution / Technical Architect with a strong engineering background and a proven track record of leading technical discovery, shaping solution architectures, and driving pre-sales activities. This role focuses on pre-sales, discovery, PoC development, prototyping, preparing technical proposals, and guiding early project phases until the engineering team is fully established.
Experience leading engineering teams is a plus, as it helps structure delivery teams and plan execution for client proposals. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with excellent communication skills to interact with client stakeholders at all levels, including C-level executives.
Scope of tasks and ownership:
Pre-Sales and Technical Proposals
Lead the technical part of pre-sales cycles: architecture vision, effort estimations, risk assessment, and technical feasibility validation
Build fast PoCs and prototypes using rapid development tools to validate business ideas and technical approaches
Prepare technical proposals that include architectural options, trade-off analyses, and delivery assumptions
Participate in client discovery sessions and calls, presenting technical decisions to stakeholders at all levels, including C-level executives
Architecture and System Design
Define system architecture for greenfield projects and legacy system modernization
Audit existing systems and provide consulting on improvement strategies, technical debt reduction, and modernization paths
Create architecture documents covering system components, integrations, data flow, APIs, storage design, security, and operational model
Ensure alignment with performance, scalability, security, and compliance requirements (especially for healthcare projects)
Design data pipelines and data-processing flows (batch, streaming, ETL/ELT)
Project Initiation
Support the initial project phase until the engineering team is onboarded
Help form initial delivery plans, backlog structure, technical milestones, and team composition
Guide tech stack selection, integration strategy, and development workflow
What You’ll need:
Technical Expertise
8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience in senior/lead roles
Deep technical background with modern backend stacks: at least JavaScript/TypeScript or Python. Java or other languages as a plus
Full-stack understanding: backend architecture, frontend (React/Next.js), and basic mobile architecture understanding (SDLC, team structure, not requiring contributor-level expertise)
Experience with both greenfield projects and legacy system modernization
Hands-on experience with rapid prototyping and PoC building using appropriate tools for fast business idea validation
Practical experience architecting microservices, data pipelines (ETL/ELT), API platforms, and event-driven systems
Experience with AI integrations and basic understanding of AI/LLM capabilities and application patterns
Familiar with cloud engineering, primarily AWS (Azure and GCP as a plus)
Understanding of CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, monitoring, and secure development practices
Architecture-level knowledge of relational/NoSQL databases, caching, messaging systems, and distributed patterns
Pre-Sales and Leadership Experience
Experience supporting pre-sales cycles or preparing technical proposals
Ability to evaluate architecture options and present trade-offs
Experience planning engineering team structure and estimating project complexity (engineering lead background is a plus)
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and fact-based reasoning skills
Excellent communication and soft skills: ability to communicate with client stakeholders at all levels, including C-level (CTO, CEO, etc.)
Healthcare domain experience (HIPAA, PHI, compliance frameworks) is a strong plus
Nice-to-Have Skills
Domain-driven design experience
Machine learning knowledge and experience
Experience building analytics solutions
Prior consulting or solution-architecture experience
Our benefits:
No micromanagement
Freedom to engage in decision-making and implementation
Ability to work in a team of professionals (the ratio of middle and above specialists 80/20)
Participation in the development of high-quality products
Direct communication with clients on a partnership level
