🧑‍💻 About the role

As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will:

• Ensure long-term performance, security and, reliability of our client-facing services and infrastructure, which must scale to meet growing customer demand.
• Identify opportunities for improving performance and proactively solve issues that arise.
• Monitor services, fine-tune alert settings, and document processes to enhance system reliability.
• Collaborate closely with the search, recommendation, and product teams to maximise performance, stability and resiliency.
• Help shape the future of our infrastructure by helping to migrate parts of our AWS-based stack to a new Kubernetes cluster, 
• preparing internal tooling to improve developer experience, minding deployment pipeline or preparing runbooks for situations that may arise.

💫 What makes you a great fit

• The sound of CPU profilers, logging pipelines, and diving deep to optimise every last bit of a component or dependency doesn’t scare you.
• Instead of asking for permission to instrument unknown code, you take a moment to consider the impact and scale issues.
• Viewing technical debt as an opportunity rather than a persistent frustration or past mistakes comes naturally to you.
• Thriving in a fast-moving workplace, staying focused despite shifting priorities, and working effectively in hybrid and remote teams are second nature.
• Familiarity with the UNIX toolchain, networking, and shell scripting is essential, along with object-oriented programming—preferably in Ruby or Python—with a willingness to learn. Knowledge of AWS services, PostgreSQL, Redis, or Terraform IaC is a plus.
• Asking for help when needed is never a problem.
• Fluency in English.
